In-Person Weekend Therapy Intensives in Philadelphia

Therapy Intensives in Philadelphia on Saturday & Sunday Mornings

Therapy intensives offer a chance to slow down and work in-depth on a specific struggle or goal. Not every issue requires long-term therapy and, in some cases, having a bigger chunk of time to devote in a focused, intentional way can be much more efficient in helping you dig deep and create true change.

Is an intensive a good fit for me?

The intensive might be a good fit for you if:

  • You would like to make progress more quickly than you would in traditional weekly therapy

  • You want to focus in-depth and intentionally on a specific struggle or goal

  • You feel ready and able to focus on yourself, your emotions and your experience for up to ten hours in a single weekend

  • You aren't looking for and/or don't have time for week-to-week support navigating challenges as they come up, but instead have a particular goal you'd like to focus on in a time-limited and focused way

  • You are ready to change! You want to grow and change but just feel stuck as to the way to get there

General Topics of Intensives Offered:

  • Anxiety

  • Depression

  • People-pleasing

  • Relationship issues

  • Life transitions

  • Personal growth goals

  • Learn more about who I work with here

Examples of Specific Topics for the Intensive:

  • Why do I always act this same-old way when I'm with my partner/mom/friend? How can I break the cycle?

  • Why do I feel vaguely depressed half the time even though life seems to be fine on paper? Is it even possible to find real change?

  • Why do I keep going the extra mile for everyone but myself? And why is it so hard to care for myself?

  • I'm tired of feeling like I just waste my time and don't actually live. I keep going back to the same habits. I want to do something different but am skeptical my attempts will ever work.

  • I feel so anxious about making the next step in my career/family/relationship and I'm completely in my head about it. I'm not sure what to do in the decision or how to get out of the anxiety.

  • I'm going through a big change (e.g. a breakup, a new job, new baby, pregnancy, etc.) and feel sad (or anxious, angry, etc.) and I don't know why or what to do about it.

What can I expect in the intensive?

An intensive involves back-to-back extended, in-depth & highly focused therapy sessions with breaks as needed. These sessions are intended to help you work in a thorough and unique way on specific goals that you bring in. My aim is to support you to see, experience and approach your struggle or goal in new ways that help you break through stuckness and feel freed up to be more simply yourself. You can learn a lot about my approach to therapy and how it works on other pages on my website.

Each person, goal and intensive is unique. Below is an example schedule for each of the three intensives, with flexibility as needed.

Example Schedules (click each title to see example schedule):

Flexible Intensive Example Schedule:

Setting: either in-person or virtual

Timing: flexible (depending on mutual availability, can be a weekend, weekday morning or a weekday evening)

10:00 am - Dive right into the topics/goals we planned in the preparation session. Begin with any changes since then and then focus on the heart of what you're hoping to work through

11:15 am - Break for as long as you wish/need

11:30 am - Continue with the heart of the work

12:45 pm - Transition to how you hope to move forward with this goal or issue and set intentions for yourself in the coming days, weeks and months

1 pm - Finish up the intensive

Distinguishing Factors of the Flexible Intensive:

  • Short enough to fit into a normal week

  • Evening options

  • Can be in-person or virtual

  • This intensive does not include a follow up session but you can add one on if you wish (+$130)

What's the process from start to finish?

1.   Begin with a free consultation to connect about your goals for the intensive and see if it seems like a good fit for us to work together. If so, decide on the type of intensive you'd like to do and when we have mutual availability.

2.   If you decide to move forward with the intensive, I will send you over some intake paperwork to complete. And at this point, we can schedule the preparation session & intensive date. When an official date is set for the intensive, a 30% deposit is due to hold your spot.

3.   Meet for a preparation session to discuss what you're hoping to work on in the intensive and some history related to this. I will aim to get a fairly thorough sense of what you hope to work on and will prepare for the intensive accordingly, aiming to support you in the intensive by gearing our efforts towards the heart of what you're hoping to work on. After this preparation session, you can choose if you would like me to send you some reflection questions which I'll write based on what we discuss in the preparation session.

4.   Meet for the intensive. See above for details on each intensive's example schedule. I recommend to be off of technology as much as possible before and after the intensive to give yourself time and space to be fully present.

5.   Meet for a follow-up session 1-4 weeks after the intensive is finished. This is included with the weekend & Saturday intensives and an optional add on for the flexible intensive.

Before deciding which intensive is the best fit, it's important to note a few factors that would make any intensive with me not a good fit. If you are hoping to do trauma-focused therapy or trauma reprocessing (e.g. EMDR), other therapists offer these types of intensives but I do not. At this time, I also do not offer intensives for anyone under the age of 20. Finally, if you are currently in therapy with another therapist, I would not recommend the intensive with me since therapists all have different ways of working and one can unintentionally disrupt the work of another. If your therapist is in support of the intensive, I would consider an exception.

When choosing between the three intensive options, the primary difference is length of time total you'll be in sessionseither four, seven or twelve hours of focused therapy. Additionally, the weekend intensive offers time at the halfway point to process overnight on your own which may be beneficial for more complex issues. The flexible intensive offers more flexibility with timing and location (virtual & evening options).

The cost of each intensive is also different. The per hour cost goes down the longer the intensive, but the total cost goes up. So, depending on whether your priority is spending less per hour of therapy vs. spending less overall, this may weigh into your decision. We can also discuss which option might make the most sense for you at the consultation.

The cost of the intensives are as follows:

Which intensive is right for me?

Weekend intensive

10 hour intensive + 1 hour preparation session + 1 hour follow up session

*This intensive includes the option for walk-and-talk therapy

$1150* (see note below for pilot program rate)

Saturday intensive

5 hour intensive + 1 hour preparation session + 1 hour follow up session

$750* (see note below for pilot program rate)

Flexible intensive

3 hour intensive + 1 hour preparation session

$475* (see note below for pilot program rate)

Please note that because this is a new program I am offering, the intensives are in a pilot stage as I get a sense of what works best. During this period (through February 1, 2026) I will be offering the intensives at a discounted rate. The first person to complete an intensive of a given type (e.g. the first to do the Saturday intensive) will receive 25% off the posted rate and any others who complete the intensive before February 1, 2026 will receive 10% off the posted rates.

For a free consultation, please reach out to me via email or fill out the booking form! I'd be glad to connect with you.
